Fleece to Felt Workshop

In collaboration with Sophie from La Petite Ferme d’Alpagas Sanzay, we have hosting our first ever Fleece to Felt workshop!

The workshop took place on Sunday 20th November 2022 and was a huge success.

The workshop starts with meeting & feeding our friendly alpacas, after all without them we wouldn’t have a workshop. You will discover their characters and maybe even decide on a favourite.

As well as sharing our knowledge of alpacas, we will also teach you all about their unique fleece and it’s qualities and uses. Sophie is very passionate about alpaca wool and runs her own successful workshops back in France.

Then comes the fun part - felting. After you’ve chosen some of your favourite alpacas fleece, we will teach you how to turn that bundle of soft fluff into felt. Using the wet felting technique, you will create some felted soap and, time permitting, a bookmark.

The workshop will take place under cover but will be open to the elements. Therefore please dress warmly. You may also like to bring a pair of washing up gloves too - we will be using soapy water and, whilst you have better ‘feel’ without gloves, you may prefer to keep your hands dry. If it’s really cold, maybe knitted gloves with larger size washing up gloves on top.

We will, of course, keep you fuelled up with hot drinks and cake too. If you have any food allergies/dietary requirements, please let us know when booking.
